Writing

We have been learning to use speech in our writing. It's quite tricky remembering where the speech marks go and where to put the punctuation marks. The children have done a great job. Here are some examples of our writing.

My Brother and I by Misha
One day my brother said, "Let's play spys." I said, "No thank you. I want to watch TV," and my brother said, "Pretty please." and I said, "Aaaw...No!" My brother said, "Pleases...or I will smack you in the face!" I said "Oh fine I will play with you!!"

Blood Test by Dominic
Once I had to have a blood test and I said to my Mum, "I don't want a blood test!" "I know," said my Mum, "I don't like them either." "Then why don't you have one," I said. Then the Doctor came in and called my name out. Then I said to the Doctor "I don't want a blood test." The Doctor said, "You have to have one." Then I ended up having one and it was really really painful.

The Bunk Bed by Holly
My brother got a bunk bed on Sunday. I didn't like that because I did not get one. I said, "Mum can I pleaaaase sleep in the bunk?" Mum said, "We have visitors we will speak later." After the visitor left we were in the car. I asked to sleep in the bunk bed, I said, "Mum am I going to sleep in the bunk bed?" In the end I did not.
