ORANA PARK BIG DAY OUT

We got to see lots of animals including tigers, lions and otters.
Dominic

Sea otters close their nostrils when they want to go swimming.
Ashton

It was a hot day.
Isobel

On the way to the park me and Dominic saw some emus and then we had a play at the playground and Lisa took Room 17 to have an iceblock.
Connor

We learned a lot about animals.
Gemma

We asked questions that even the teachers at Orana park didn't know.
Logan

The gibbons were very noisy. We didn't get to see the kangaroos.
Ashleigh

The Rhino's horn is made out of finger nails. We got to go in the kiwi house. Some fisherman train the otters to catch fish.
Sky

We got to touch the rhinocerous's horn.
Trinity

The ring tailed lema is afraid of water.
Shayan

We could pat the giraffe and feed them with our hands. We saw the lions and tigers.
Stavros

My favourite animal was the ring tailed lema.
Phoebe

Some fisherman kill otters because they get the fish out of the net.
Jazmin

Don't buy products with palm oil in them because people are destroying the habitat of primates. Don't give the kea human food. Do not buy baby gibbons as pets. Don't buy products with white rhino horn in them if you are overseas. Otters live in the water and are affected by pollution.

Thank you to Lisa and Karen for being fantastic parent helpers. We were very proud of the children's behaviour today and the staff at Orana park were most impressed with the behaviour and questioning from the children.
