Swimming Sports
A shared story by Room 17
Isobel said "Swimming Sports were awesome and it was fun."
"I liked it because I came second" said Holly.
Gemma said "Some people did the width backstroke."
Ava said "Others did a width freestyle."
Today we went to Jellie Park to do swimming sports. It was exciting and it was excellent. We felt really tired and hungry at the end. Some people felt nervous about their race. We had to squish up on the seats while we waited for our race. The races were freestyle and backstroke widths and lengths. Also we had kick-board width races. Miss Archbold called out the races and Mr McKenzie set it all up. We would like to say a big THANK YOU to Mr McKenzie and Miss Archbold. We got prizes for cheering everyone. We had house colour relays and kakariki won. Whero came second, kowhai third and kahurangi came fourth. The class relays were awesome and the people that were in it were Holly, Dominic, Isobel and Logan. They did really well. Our class came third. Thank you to the parents who came to support us and the parents in the pool. Lots of us felt really proud of ourselves. We are all looking forward to next year's swimming sports.
